Based in the UK and working between New York, London and Paris, Kevin Mackintosh draws off his African roots to bring his distinctive and highly stylised visual universe to life. Describing this as a kind of ‘handwriting’, Kevin infuses his work with elements borrowed from film, art and theatre. His often dramatic and always evocative images create narratives that captivate the viewer. Blending traditional still-life compositions with fashion and a sense of theatre, Kevin’s work has gained wide-spread international recognition. His collaboration with The Bolshoi Opera and Royal Ballet Company was acquired by the National Portrait Gallery in London. He is currently completing his second book, ‘Manipulated African Landscapes’.
